Sono parecchie le canzoni del secolo scorso che meritano una citazione. Anzitutto quelle premiate al Festival di Sanremo, soprattutto per la comprensibilità del loro popolare linguaggio: Le mamme del mondo, Vecchio scarpone, Papaveri e papere meritano sicuramente una menzione.
Ma, a mio giudizio, una delle più belle canzoni del secolo scorso rimane sicuramente quella di Claudio Villa, Binario. Ricordate: "Binaaariooo, triste e solitarioooo...". Nella solitudine del binario e nella melodica voce di Claudio Villa era racchiuso il pathos di tutto l'ambiente ferroviario italiano: dal bigliettaio al capotreno, dalla vecchia locomotiva a vapore all'intrecciarsi dei binari in un grosso nodo ferroviario, del trasporto merci e del trasporto passeggeri, dei notevoli ritardi e del capostazione col berretto rosso con le greche dorate, le valigie di cartone legate con lo spago dei migranti e soprattutto il dramma della solitudine del macchinista.
Meno male che le linee ferroviarie a binario unico sono rimaste poche ed il binario per sua fortuna ha trovato un compagno ad alleviargli la solitudine.
Ecco, io sono per Binario, anche se ci sarebbe quella del Telefono di Modugno che pure non è male e che ha fatto tanto piangere l'Italia dell'epoca.
E' triste pensare che canzoni di tale levatura non se ne compongano più. Oggi la moda privilegia i ritmi d'importazione e le titolazioni in inglese. Speriamo che le giovani leve, che tanto si applicano al ritmo del tam-tam africano e del fracasso hard, ritrovino un giorno interesse per la bella e melodica canzone italiana di un tempo.
